Retirement, illness: Which causes which? MarketWatch (blog) There’s a school of thought that says that if you want to stay healthy during your retirement years, you’re better off not retiring at all.

This is slightly misleading. The numbers are biased because of the number of people who are forced into retirement because they are ill. Continuing working, particularly at an intense pace, does not necessarily solve the problem of declining health during retirement.
